5 best winter coats- for the freezing fashionista

Hey guys, welcome back to the blog! As you know, January went on for like 50 days, which seems impossible yet feels extremely true. So I’m super excited that it’s finally February, because that means we are one month closer to summer! Whoo! That being said, winter is kinda fun…. (don’t get mad at me mom, I said KINDA) because if you know me at all you know that my favorite items to buy and to wear are coats. I don’t know what it is about fun outerwear that I love so much, but every year I buy like seven unnecessary coats and jackets. This year I went home to Utah with only one coat in my suitcase… I came back with eight. EIGHT coats and jackets, within a month. if that doesn’t tell you how obsessed I am with outerwear then I don’t know what will. Because I literally live in Georgia, one of the hottest states in the country. And I brought back eight coats. But I figured I won’t have the time to write a blog post for each coat outfit that I’ve taken pictures of, so I wanted to just mush them all together and do a “top 5” blog post. So these are my top coats that I have been digging during this never-ending January.

  1. The yellow teddy bear coat. My dad calls this my “Winnie the Pooh” coat, and I should probably be offended by that but I’m not… I love Winnie the Pooh. This jacket/coat is perfect for winter because it’s bright yellow and adds a little bit of color to this dreary time of year. It instantly makes any outfit look really happy and fun- not to mention it’s really really warm. There are lots of different versions of this coat but this one is my favorite because of the subtly sparkly collar and also because it’s dirt cheap. Seriously. Unfortunately it sold out super fast so I can’t link it for you guys 😦

    2. The classic faux fur burgundy coat. This coat you guys. This coat makes the world go round. It’s genuinely the SOFTEST thing I’ve ever felt and soooo incredibly warm. I picked this up in Anthropologie last month and I definitely did not regret it. It’s super fashion forward, cozy, and goes with pretty much any dark-toned outfit. I feel like a super extra beverly hills mom going out on the town when I wear it. I dig it. You can find the exact one I’m wearing right here.IMG_06993.  My next favorite is one that I actually made. However, there’s a very similar one at H&M that you can find right here. This coat has probably been my #1 favorite throughout this winter because it goes with so many things and like automatically elevates and outfit, no matter what it is. Every time I wear it somewhere I get so many comments on it, and I feel super confident in it, even though I maybe look a little bit crazy. It kept me super warm all winter and it fits my personality to a T.

    4. The next one I’ve been digging is this blue beauty from Banana Republic. like UGH it’s so pretty, you can’t deny that. It might not be the warmest one on this list, it’s actually pretty thin, but it’s definitely the most sophisticated. I love the splash of pastel color it gives to my outfits, and I loved how it looked mixed with this pastel peach Free People scarf. I wore this one in Charleston, which was literally so freezing, and it didn’t keep me super warm but it still makes the top 5 list just for being so pretty and chic! you can buy it here. Buy at your own risk… because trust me you’ll be obsessed.

    5. Last but not least is this adorable coat that’s also from Anthropologie. I had my eye on this one for a really long time, so I finally just asked for it for Christmas, and santa pulled through. I’ve probably worn this one the most out of all of my coats, it’s just so ME. I love love love the light pink and white together and the fit and silhouette is super different and interesting. It literally doesn’t matter what I wear underneath it, because it just steals the show, and I love it. You can buy it here.
