November in New York

Hey friends!! Welcome back to Style Me Bri, I feel like I haven’t posted in ages, but I’ve just been living my best life here in New York! I’m seriously having a blast out here, and it absolutely breaks my heart to think about leaving this place next week. I want to stay forever. These last few months have been some of the best of my life! My internship has been going so well, I’ve made some great friends there and have learned so many skills and had so many amazing experiences. I truly can’t believe it’s almost over! It’s gone by crazy fast… probably because I’ve packed so much excitement into just 10 weeks. So far I’ve seen nine different Broadway shows, been to Jimmy Fallon, seen/met some cool celebrities, eaten at a gazillion different restaurants, been to a concert at Madison Square Garden, made so many new friends, almost been hit by dozens of taxis, and made so many memories that I’ll never forget. I’m sorry that this blog post is getting so cheesy, but seriously I just love this city and all of my NYC friends so so so much. One of my favorite things about these last couple months is that I’ve had so much time to design and sew! My internship is only three days a week which left me with four days each week to explore the city, do fun things with friends, and sew like crazy! I’ve sold a ton of jackets on my Etsy site these last few weeks, and I’m just about to launch a new website selling all of the new things I’ve been designing while I’ve been here, which is so exciting for me because this is truly what I want to do for the rest of my life! I made the red coat in these pictures at literally like 2:00 am last night (which honestly is when I think I work best), and I think it’s one of my favorites I’ve ever made, so it will definitely be up for sale soon along with the other two coats shown on my friends, and the sweaters I recently made! I’m so excited about this new site, and I can’t wait for you guys to see it!

Today we went for a freezing walk in Central Park and my friend Meg ( took these cute pictures for me! It was definitely the coldest day since I’ve been here, and I think winter this year might be the one that kills me. I could make a million coats but I swear I’ll never be warm enough to survive a winter in NYC. We wandered around taking pics for a while until we were certain our toes were frozen and had fallen off in our boots. So we went to the Plaza (I felt very Gossip Girl-y) for a little bit of warmth and a yummy dinner. We ate at a restaurant in the Plaza called Todd English which I definitely recommend, it was a little pricey but totally worth it. We had some lobster mac n cheese that was to die for. And I also somehow talked my way into free cookies and a free slice of cake at the Plaza market after?? Idk?? I might be a wizard, I’m not sure. Love it. Anyway, it was an overall fabulous day and my clothes are all completely covered in red fur from my coat because I haven’t lined it yet… oops. I’m just thriving and loving New York and loving life right now, and I’m just a happy dude.

Okay, sorry about the rando life stuff, now about the clothes (on my fashion blog? what a concept.) I have been absolutely living and breathing for these boots lately. They’re Jeffrey Campbell boots that I got at Free People, and I think I would sell my soul for them if I had to… I don’t know what situation would call for that, but I would do it. they’re just such statement boots and they make any outfit look so fun! especially when paired with other red pieces. This actual pair is out of stock (not even surprised) but here’s a similar Jeffrey Campbell pair that are super cool, shop them here. Next, my pants are from Topshop! I can’t find them on their website because I got them about a year ago, but they’re seriously so fun and I wear them all the time, even in the fall and winter when gingham isn’t really a thing…. because I think they’re cute and I’m a rebel so ha. Plus I think the contrast with the red is so cute. My shirt is from a random little shop in Paris that I found while walking around some random street there this summer, so unfortunately I can’t link it, but it’s one of my fav tees. I won’t tell you where I got the glasses because…. if you know you know. And that’s all I’m gonna say about that.

Alright kids Mom has to go to bed because it’s almost 4:00 am and I have no idea why I’m still awake?? Probably because I drank a red bull an hour ago for absolutely no reason except that I think they’re yummy. So good night, sleep tight, be nice to people, and buy my coats.

love you all.
